Is this a wolf spider?

Hi all I went out side a few minutes ago to grill some lunch...This spider scared the crap outa me lol.I have a mild case of arachnophobia,anyway everyone around here calls these spiders wolf spiders.I was just wondering if thats the correct common name for them. click to enlarge








I had to move her because of the grill


P.S. I know its not a pet but I didnt see a spider identification thread like the scorp one so I posted it here...hope its ok

Ok thanks wburke I thought so.one of my friends kept telling me it was a funnel web something or other.I dontknow hes dumb though =o) thanks for the info

LOL as far as i know Funnel-web spiders live on the east coast and highlands of Australia,
i think your right about your friend, oh and yeah looks like a wolf spider to me to

yeah I thought so I felt bad haveing to move her but dam I didnt want all those babys crawling around my bar and grill,all my friends would be eatin burgers with a hint of spiderlings

My wolf's eggsac just popped the other day. Nothing special, really, since they're common.

I thougth she was pretty cool.No I just moved her to my garden.hope the some babys might hang around and get rid of any bad bugs that might be in there

here is her new home just across the little bridge to the left of the fake pelican =o)


P.S dont mind the elbow in the pic by the pool my mom and dad brought my nephew over to swim and I didnt realize she moved so the panaramic messed up when it was stitching the pics togeather lol.Looks pretty funny though
