| My t bum(dont know what els to call it) is getting smaller it as a water dish and has eaten once Ive onley have had it for maybe week or 2 Any one have any ideas???? | |

| Species? Temperature? Humidity? Age? Most recent molt? We can't really answer anything until you give us some more information. (By the way, the bum is called an abdomen or an opithosoma, depending on who you're talking to .) In the meantime, try offering prey again. | |

| You could have a mature male -- their bums look kind of like big raisins when they're nearing the end.
Does it look really leggy, as in the majority of its body mass is just legs? If that's the case, it probably IS a mature male. They seldom live more than a year after their ultimate molt.
Look at the front pair of legs -- can you see a little "hook" somewhere on the underside? This would confirm it. | |

| Its a female thats what the pet shop owner said and they have a good place and take care of there animals so i trust her and i compared them to pic when i first got her the abdomen shrunk witch i dont think is good i did feed her to day she ate rate a way i put it in her web thing thou it was pretty cool she moved really fast and knocked down her web in like half a sec | |

| I never trust pet stores when it comes to sexing (or even IDing) their specimens.
Underfed is a possibility, though this species can easily go months without feeding. Post up a picture. | |

| do you think it might be going into a molt it has a very black abdomen just above the head part it did get a little bit smaller not as much as i thought. has for it being male or female heres a pic of the the front legs [img] [/img]

| Looks female to me . . . it's possible she's going into a molt, but that would explain a fat abdomen, not a shriveled one. She looks ok now.
Probably just underfed at the shop. | |
