Species?

Temperature?

Humidity?

Age?

Most recent molt?

We can't really answer anything until you give us some more information.

(By the way, the bum is called an abdomen or an opithosoma, depending on who you're talking to Smile.)

In the meantime, try offering prey again.

You could have a mature male -- their bums look kind of like big raisins when they're nearing the end.

Does it look really leggy, as in the majority of its body mass is just legs? If that's the case, it probably IS a mature male. They seldom live more than a year after their ultimate molt.

Look at the front pair of legs -- can you see a little "hook" somewhere on the underside? This would confirm it.

I never trust pet stores when it comes to sexing (or even IDing) their specimens.

Underfed is a possibility, though this species can easily go months without feeding. Post up a picture.

Looks female to me . . . it's possible she's going into a molt, but that would explain a fat abdomen, not a shriveled one. She looks ok now.

Probably just underfed at the shop.
