| Hello, got these 2 L.q.'s today. They have black spots on their claws and male has some on almost every leg and 1 on body.Female seems to have only 1 on her claw. If it's mycosis, can i do anything to help them? They are on completely dry sand now Pics: (I assume they are not adults)? Male (3cm body) Female (4cm body) | |

| Yes, that is mycosis.
You can't do anything more than keep them bone dry. So you're doing good.
If they are still subadult they may molt out of it but if adult there is nothing more you can do. Lots of wc scorps have mycosis and it doesn't have to be a problem it doesn't look very serious. As long as it doesn't spread to the book lungs, I think they'll do fine. Keep an eye on that right chela of the female. Do not add a water dish, fluid from prey is often enough.
Take care. | |

| Well this sucks, I better mate them fast just in case... I bought them as adults. By the way..If mycosis somehow spreads to mother's back, and there will be newborns, would it be possible for them to catch mycosis too? Thanks | |

Thanks I think you can stop it from spreading by keeping the enclosure dry. But mycosis is a fungal infection and in theory it could be possible but it needs moist conditions to thrive and again, if you keep the enclosure bone dry I think there is a good chance the babies will be ok....and after the first molt when they leave there mothers back you can separate them. They will molt and if you keep the babies under the good conditions I think you'll be just fine. Joey

Well, I would certainly contact the seller and explain this, you might get a free specimen or at least a discount. Don't cut into your own money thats a waste. You just only purchased it, so I would def say something about this.

| Well, you're right. Actually this is second time i ordered from that breeder. First time i ordered 5 scorp slings, 2 were DOA, 1 had whole body covered with black mycosis spots, died day after, only 2 survived(they seem to be completely healthy). I contacted him, so he offered me to buy those l.q.'s with discount. | |

| That's sad to see/hear. Glad they're willing to at least give you a discount on your next ones. I don't know if I would order the next ones from them, though. | |
