Hey I was wondering what you all feed your scorpions. Do you usualy feed them the same thing or do you mix it up or put something on the insects to make them more nutritious? Also, do any of you feed your scorpions more dangerous food that may put up a fight like spiders ect..

Thank you ahead of time!!

Thanks for the comment! I've always just fed my scorp crickets and I always make sure the crickets are well fed and hydrated before I feed them to her. I want to mix it up a bit so I'M going to get her some dubias tonight. We'll see how that goes.. Smile

Ok cool. My girl eats like a beast and is pretty aggressive when shes hungry so she shouldnt have a problem eating them, even the bigger ones. Very Happy

B. latteralis are good too. Shakudo feeds his scorps grasshoppers, but he gets them at his expo's and stuff.

p.s. don't feed your scorpion something that can potentially harm it or otherwise. No spiders from the garden.

some of my scorps that dont/wont/cant eat crickets, i usually feed with lateralis roaches. my bigger ones love superworms and crickets. my c.celebensis are fond of jumping spiders and my HH has a special preference for house geckos Smile

I feed mine dubia roaches. Crickets are fine, but they stink, often die and can harm freshly molted scorpions. Roaches have a higher meat to shell ratio than crickets...crickets are about 18% protein, whereas roaches are double that. Gut load feeders with dog food (pellets, not the wet stuff), carrots, potato, leafy greens, fruit, etc. There are tons of sites and some YouTube videos on gut loading. Roaches maintain their stomach contents longer than crickets also. Mealworms or Superworms are okay as an occasional treat, but they have a higher fat content. I don't feed anything dangerous or from outside...not worth the risk of introducing parasites or pesticides when you can avoid it. Hope that helps.

^ true. what's up with crickets that they stink anyways? lol

the only thing i dont like bout lateralis is that they're hard to catch and if you're not careful you might squeeze them to death haha
