| I'm pretty sure that my WC Bothriurus sp. I got from Adam Jansen is gravid. I fed her a few days ago and she looks like she got even fatter ( taller + wider ) and I think I can see little yellow embryos through her membrane. It's so hard to tell because this sp. is so small... I would take pics, but the cam that I use doesn't take very good macro shots and for the life of me I can't get a good pic.
Does she sound gravid to you? What's the brood size of this sp.?

| She very well could be as she is WC. The best test to "know" is for her to refuse food for ages and to still get bigger and bigger. No idea on brood size. I presume a pretty good size! Im seen some small scorpions in pictures with their brood on back and then piling intop of each other and hanging off the tail as there isnt much back space | |

| i think it depends on how close they get to blowing the brood, because they need some enegery to make the little ones, so i think they accept food up too they blow the brood. | |

| Well, as I've said, I've just noticed her getting taller + wider, so I think you may be right, Kejser This is gonna be SO freaking cool if she is preggo! | |

| I hope so and sounds promising. My U.Granulatus are about an inch long so its hard to tell with my female. Roll on new macro lenses next week! So I can sympathise with the posting a picture predicament!
But going off food or just eating small amounts from time to time can be a good indication. Blocking themselves into burrows can also be another indicator.
Fingers crossed for ya hun

| Ya she's about 1.5" overall. Pretty small. About the size of my 4i B. jacksoni ( think they're 4i... ). I fed her a medium-sized cricket about 4-days-ago. I took notice of how fat she got after eating it and I'm pretty sure she's as big, if not bigger than before. I wish I could afford a decent cam with some nice lenses so I could take some sweet macro shots. That would own | |

| I might be missing something here
Are you not used to scorpions gaining weight after eating?

| Well my female refused food for 4 months, ate a small cricket. went 2 months and then BANG babies... So I think they eat eat eat and then the meals become smaller and smaller until nothing and then they birth. | |

| Some macros: What do you guys think? Mods: If you feel the need to, move this to the pics forum. @Canth: Sorry, I'm not as knowledgeable as some people when it comes to scorpions, so I could be wrong... I only have 9 atm. I got my first scorp @ the beginning of last winter. I got my first 'real' scorps about 2-months-ago ( 5 B. jacksoni's and the one in this thread.. along with 2 big emps ). | |

| the first picture has a white blob visible thru membrane and the second shows the spinal cord well... I'd say you have a gravid. | |

| Awesome!!!!!!!! I posted this over @ AB and they all said she looks gravid as well. I can see little yellowish things through the membrane.. but barely. I can't wait Oh, and earlier, when I was going to take her out of the KK, she got very aggressive. She never was before. | |

| Well my smp looks like that , only more elongated as well! She looks just like a bigger version of a newborn scorpling... Proper fit to pop!
That the thing i love about this forum, i get excited for other people who have gravids.... and there's sooo many people on here with them (or just popped!)

| Sometimes the popping takes a long time and sometimes its very quick! I think it depends on how many are inside too as to how big she will get. xxxxx | |

| The embryos are a lot more noticable now! I have no clue what to do after she pops... Hopefully the dry environment is OK with the large bottle cap of water. I wet one corner of the substrate about 1-2 times per month. | |

| She hasnt birthed just yet and besides...you could have a little while longer to wait! When it happens, get that nice surpise and then forget about her and the babies for a week to 10 days. then take a peek and see what the situation is xxxxxx | |

| So I should forget about them and not give them water for 1-2 weeks? Lol. I guess with one corner of the KK damp, they should be fine? It's going to be hard trying not to peek at them everyday >.> Thanks Mike and Connie | |

| Just keep doing what you are already doing. When they are born just keep doing what you are already doing...but...thats just putting in water when need be. But more often then not, dont bother them and mum. It will be fine! | |
