| Yes the only species found locally (very rarely) is Euscorpius (flavicaudis). They most likely hitchhiked from the south of France. | |

| Thanks - do you think this is E. flavicaudis though? It's tail is black... Could in theory be any Euscorpius species, ''hitchhike-wise''. | |

| Could be any subsort. There are people here who can tell you a lot more about these, but from what I know they all look the same and you need to be an expert to keep them apart.
SO hopefully tom or someone else can chime in for you.

| Great pics btw! Does look like a euscorpius but like Pluto said it's quite hard to tell between them I have euscorpius flavicaudis and yours is not as they have yellow tails hense there common name European yellow taped scorpions, I'll do a bit of research, how big Is it? some flat rock scorpions look very similar to euscorpius | |

| agreed with bex... italicus or the one that begins with c lol
have you noiced how our E.flavicaudis are a lot lighter. their tails are very pale yellow, they are also a very dark brown, as opposed to a shade of black/brown
i noticed this as i was looking on a shop, so i've sort of stopped using our ones as a compariosn lol

| You cant ID Euscorpius by color, thats near impossible, Best thing is to say its Euscorpius sp. Since the only way to really ID Euscorpius sp. is to look at the chela under a microscope and thats hard with a live one, trust me | |
