Get two heat bulbs or the mat and the bulb, put one bulb or the mat in the middle part (mat on the wall of the middle or bulb above the middle), put the other on one side of it. You will need 2 heat sources for a tank that size but dont space them out evenly, the scorps need a cool spot which would be the spot without the heat sources.

Is it the same temperature all over? As long at it's the right temperature on one side, the scorpions will go where they need to go (heat or cold)...

Yea, always have a cold and hot side, my emps and cavi's go to the cold side alot but bask in the heat and to grab a basking cricket. The heat on one side usually keeps the crickets from moving about too.

You can't go wrong with ceramic heat bulbs!!! If you plan on using a regular bulb make sure it doesn't give off uvA or uvB light.
