| Haven't seen my scorpion (Pandinus Cav, Red Claw) in almost 2 weeks. It dug a fairly long and deep burrow. Hasn't came out in almost 2 weeks. Didn't know it it was dead or alive. Started poking around, removing some of the substrate trying to find it, suddenly something grabs onto the small dowel I was digging with. Apparently, it's alive and well in there. Prob mad that I disturbed it though. I damage the burrow with the digging. I hate that because I don't want to stress it. Just wanted to make sure it was ok. Is it normal for red claws to stay in heir hole for long periods of time? I guess I'm gonna get it out, and try and get it to start a new burrow where I can at least see a bit of it through the glass. |

| Yeah, Pandinus species are obligate burrowers - expect them to dig when given the opportunity and disappear for extended periods of time. |

Felt bad about messing with his set up. Just finished "re doing" his substrate to fix the hole I dug. Moved him to a temp container, took some substrate out. Moved both hides towards the front instead of the back corners. Made the substrate shallower in the back, 3", and about 4 1/2" in the front. I did have it nearly 6" level all around before. Hoping it will burrow towards the front this time so I can keep an eye on it better. Hasn't taken a cricket in 2 weeks either, but took 2 in 3 days right before that. Read that it's normal for them to go without food for a good while though. |

They will fast from time to time. So nothing to worry about, he'll eat eventually |

| Mine doesn't really burrow too deep. If anything, he hides under his rock or pushes up his "pool" and goes under there for at most, a day at a time. |
