Millipedes that glow under UV.

Hi peeps. I live in South GA and I went out looking for Florida Bark Scorpions one evening. I found none. However, to my surprise, I found literally thousands of these millipedes grazing in my yard. I thought you guys might like to see the pics. I hope the shots came out ok. Does anyone know anything about them? Are they poisonous? Can I use them as feeders? We don't use pesticides around here. Anyway, enjoy.

I wouldn't use them as feeders. Flat millipedes (Polydesmida spp.) produce a defensive secretion containing hydrogen cyanide and benzaldehyde.

Thanks Shebean, and you too DesertHairyScorpion1. I looked at the article link you posted. Lots of great info. I know now I won't be using these guys as feeders. And their poisonous nature makes me realize at least to an extent why they're so numerous! I'm going to continue to make my little backyard expeditions and see what I can find.
