| So a couple months ago i had my entire collection wiped out in one week it started with my V. spinigerus that i was keeping with my banded geckos for over 6 months with another one in as well. I had found the body of the scorpion within 2-2 1/2 hours after death and this is what i found almost looks like decomposition but that would not have been possible due to the time peramitters in which i found it. So i proceded to dissect it and found this brown gushy muck with no traces of any internal organs. The next day i found my other one dead with a similar look to it like it was hollowed from the inside out. with the tail segments entirely hollow and just leaving the exoskeleton. with in two days after that i found three more of my scorps that were in separate cages dead but one had died in a strange position on its back being arched up by its tail and the other was my C. gracilis male. Three more days went by and i found my female C. gracilis. My first thought was that it must have been a cricket that ate her so i tour the cage apart looking for the little basterd and found only a couple left over cricket carcasses My only scorpion that survived was my Borthriurus picunche which i kept in a separate spot in my room due to there specific temperature requirements. Defiantly a weird case all of my scorpions were doing great and eating well than all died in a fort night . I think it might have been a parasitic nematode. What are your thoughts guys | |

| Ah that sucks, does seem really weird if your scorps we all in seperate enclosures how did they all fall under the same circumstances. Something in the air, or water, or batch of food? Not sure might have been a type of fungal or parasite infection. We'll label this one a scorpion fringe case. | |

| Sorry. Looks like a parasite. Were they wild caught? If not, maybe the food items had parasites. | |

| I caught a Mediterranean house gecko (Hemidactylus turcicus) in my back yard a few years ago and several days after housing it in a 10 gallon aquarium I decided to do a thorough inspection of the gecko and it's enclosure. I held the flashlight on the side of the tank and to my horror I saw tons of tiny worms coming down on strands of what seemed like silk from the lid, but these worms were significantly smaller than silk worms. They were also crawling up the sides of the enclosure. After a little research I realized my WC gecko had been infected with pin worms or threadworms (Enterobius sp.?). I immediately released the gecko back outside and washed and bleached the tank along with the lid. The OP stated he owned a couple geckos, maybe the worms somehow infested the OP's scorps. I'm not an expert in parasitology, so I'm not sure if pinworms could even infect scorpions. Pinworms are a nematode, so I'm just thinking maybe they could be the reason. I know they can infect crickets and geckos. Just food for thought. | |

| Hey, I just lost my dune scorpion due to mysterious reasons.
I dissected the scorpion, and all I found was some kind of paste like bean paste. Was your scorpion like that too?
Not trying to jack the thread, but I experienced something similar. | |
