Mine used to be brown and fat then it went upside down for two days and it came out all pink and gray shiny and skinny

I just got her(i was told she was a girl) couple days ago any one wouldnt know how to tell the age a a tarantula would you???

I'm not sure. I new to Ts as well. I have a Brachypelma albopilosum and a G. rosea sling.

Venom seems to know something, though.

My B. albo is awesome! I have him in a coconut hide and he webs up the front with a thin web, then webs up the substrate, rolls it up, then places it on the web in the entrance. I don't know how long they can go without water, though..

It doesn't look like it's in premolt to me -- the abdomen gets really dark as the new hairs become visible through the exoskeleton.

I've never had a rosie be "scary" at me, even with those fangs. These guys are pretty laid-back.

Yup. First day I had him. It's not advised as #1) it stresses them out and #2) you could be bitten.

Hah you never know with G.rosea a dude i know had one for over 2 years with out molting and eating.. go figgur

do tarantulas eat their prey hole or just eat the insides?????

They leave what are called "food boluses" -- little scrunched up balls of cockroach exo.

Their venom helps to digest the prey and they also have "teeth" on the underside of their chelicerae that they mash the prey against to liquefy it.

Arachnids can only consume liquids.
