one emp died...

i think it was my fualt......

i took away the false bottom becuase they were digging into the water and i thought they would drown.....

so without the false bottom i pour water on the soil once a week and spray daily....

but oviously it was too wet cuase i was taking out crickets and was wondering why 4 of them didnt burrow

so i started digging for the 5th one and found him/her at the bottom, dead....

but the soil was like really wet when i squeezed a handful of soil alot of water came out...

so now i have 2 adult males, and 1 female thats about to molt and 1 female that might be in pre-molt soon.

I'm sorry to hear about you're scorpion.

But it will live on

in a land filled with crickets and roaches...

It's not your fault...the odds of an emp dying from too much water are slim to none.

However, the substrate should only be moist, not wet. The gravel in the false bottom also should only have a small amount of water in it.

I feel for ya... I lost one a recently as well. It is heartbreaking.

i mixed dry coconut fiber substrate in with the what was "wet" subrate, now its just moist.

i was misting way too much and all the water accumulated in the substrate, there wasnt enough substrate to absorb it all.

So very sorry for your loss. As i mentioned in the PMs I haven't seen one of the Sisters in a while and I'm a bit worried. Withing the next couple days or so I will be upturning their burrow to make sure the there are still three. Cross your fingers for me. Your scorp is in Scorpland now.

i used to dig up my emps every once in a while but they were always fine .... exept this one time the dirt was too wet.
