Hello,
Eddy (abyss) has ok'd having a species photo directory on scorpion forum.
The idea is for the directory to be a useful tool for identification, sexing and basic information, and also a place to look at pictures of particular species of scorpions without having to trawl through threads, google images etc.
The plan is for members to submit pictures to the thread
https://scorpionforum.darkbb.com/t9461-species-photo-directory-picture-submissions#106592 . These will then be moved from here in to their own special section where the species will be grouped in to families and made in to an easy to navigate list.
What we are looking for........
Submissions: good quality, clear pictures. The pictures can include any part of the scorpions anatomy, in particular any that may help with identifying or sexing the species. Pictures of the scorpions natural habitat may also be included. Photographers will be fully credited.
Information: a small amount of information on the species can be included such as: species (obviously) and also subspecies/colour morph/variant if applicable, country/area of origin (if you know where it was collected), what the sex and instar of the scorpion is; and if you include any anatomical pictures, a brief description of what they show (e.g. ventral aspect of chela etc.).
The threads will be locked to stop any discussion.
So to everyone who is handy with a camera or already has some great photos, get submitting your pictures
