| I am quite surprised at how horrible these guy's hunting skills are. Although it is very funny to watch him run around his little deli cup trying to catch a terrified cricket. After about an hour this was the end result....good job buddy finally! | |

| Yeah, they're not exactly the most agile of scorpions...they seem to have better luck with slower moving prey.
By the way, if you pinch the knee joint on the back legs of crickets, the leg will drop off and make the cricket easier to catch for the scorp.

| Ya they are just horrible at hunting. But thats what I ended up doing with the cricket and then he had an easier time capturing it. | |

| I wouldn't say they are horrible at hunting, just not evolved to hunt fast moving crickets...
It'd be interesting to know what most of their diet consists of in the wild.

| It would be very interesting to know I do agree! I was reading that they use there ability to fit into tight rock crevasses to assist in there hunting of insects and such. Very interesting stuff I love how these guys are extremely paper thin. | |

| since they live in rock crevices, maybe they feed off millipedes?? which is way slow than most critters | |

| My big male H. troglodytes doesn't have too much trouble hunting, but he has a long reach and is surprisingly fast in short bursts. I need to take a decent picture of him and post it. | |

| Yes you do. I miss my flat rock. My current living situation limits me on getting some of the bigger species. But I'm dying to get some H.arizonensis, H.paucidens H.spinifer | |

| I fixed your links. Photobucket links only work if you use the actual picture link. The ones you provided were for the page that had the occur not the actual picture itself. | |

| Hadogenes are awesome indeed. I would love to keep some one day but they are illegal to keep over here, where they originate from, because they are being over collected for the hobby. | |
