| Plain sand is good. A rocky substrate is also nice. Mixed substrates are better. Basically anything that would stay dry, won't attract molds or mites is perfect. Be sure to provide slabs of flat rocks, slate or even tiles for it to hide

| I use a mix of sand, fine gravel and dried coco peat and provide large slate stones.
Do a search for the thread Leia, hadogenes paucidens and you'll see, I'm on my iPad at the moment so can't link you a picture...
