I'm not sure about her instar. I got her about a month ago from a collector. He had her about a year. I think she was wild caught. She seems large to me. Is this about as big as they typically get? I figured she was a female from her size, but what else are you looking at to sex her?

One other thing, I notice small brown dots on her joints. Is that normal for these guys? It seems like some scorps have this as a normal coloration.

Yes, she seems large. Pardon me, what's the diameter of that coin?

Generally, yes females does look as bulky as her. But the most accurate method would be by a pectine tooth count.

If you are talking about the mild small dots that happens to be "uniformly" at the joints, yes, it's the normal coloration, not mycosis.

That's a US quarter dollar. They're 24mm in diameter.
