| Doing half a brick is awkward at best, as it goes along a gradient of "completely expanded" to "completely solid" with the halfway point still needing water.
If you have as many inverts as my fiancee and I do, it's easier just to throw a three-pack in a bucket and save it for the next time you need it. | |

| Wow...I have to say. cutting though it with a bread knife is hard! we did that for the cavimanus "semi home" and it took ages! I never thought to do the whole brick and just put into bags...well its all been used up now with rehoming tonight xxxxx | |

| wow, all this over a bread knife! hahahaha....well the bread knife worked! took some effort but I managed to cut a chunk off!....felt all hot and bothered afterwards, too much effort for my liking! And if it had been a butter knife, I would still be there now hacking away hahaha xxxxx | |

| Wow, you guys . . . I bet my advice is sounding better and better, huh? The first time Lori tried cutting a brick, she used a table saw. Yes, a table saw. Apparently it's a LOT easier if you cut it with the grain (i.e., lengthwise), as you'll note that's the direction it flakes when you add water. | |
