"substrate" is the ground which the animal is housed on

it's either thick cut coco fiber, cypress mulch or other like mulch. yeah, I would say change it up to something more manageable for the scorp - whatever it is, it's too thick

And yes...the substrate is too think. Good ol' coco fibre will do.

I dont use moss for my ones though! it ends up STINKING! *gross*

I would say it is way to dry in there, the screen top allows no moisture build up.

yeah only thing id say is cover about half of he mesh top with cling film or something, the humidity will be way too low with a screen top, so yeah just cover a bit of it. nice scorp tho

You can keep the humidity AND ventilation up if you use a false-bottom.

i got a new top it is like a light bulb top but it covers the tank pretty much and new substrate its zoomed coco brick or something it looks nice thou

i use coco brick for mine aswell nice substrate but a bit of a pain to use if you dont wanna use the whole brick straight away, i hate trying to cut them in half lol

I ususally only dip half of it in water and then cut if from there.

I didn't even try, yesterday. I just used the whole thing just for about a cups worth.

I just stick a three-pack in a five-gallon bucket of water and use it as I need it.

Most of the time i just the whole thing and put the leftover in a plastic bag tie it up and forget about it untill the day i need more substrate. THen i just rewater it.

yea i guess thats do able but for storage i think the previous idea of dipping half is better

For a ten GAL I have to use about 1.5 bricks of it to get around 5-6" after compaction...
