| Yames is just being nice with his words P.liosoma is likely to be 6.instar and for L.quinquestriatus, i'm leaning towards 7.instar. | |

| You can sex both those scorps without pectin counts. It's not as foolproof as pectin counts but the overall body shapes help with sexing, female LQ are much larger and more robust than males. Parabuthus can also be sexed by the thickness and roundness of their chelae. | |

| Parabuthus females can also be identified by the enlarged "tooths" on the basal lamellae. | |

| Well looks like GS pegged the Lq. As i've started a new topic about the babies it starting popping out last night. It's the same Lq pictured here. I still don't think she looked gravid. But I'm obviously %100 wrong. | |

| Don't blame yourself for it. From the pics, she can be looking just like a well-fed scorpion. Unless a keeper mated a pair himself, or bought a possibly gravid female(as told by his dealer), not many would readily expect any "popping" to happen. For those who wish to follow the story of this Leiurus quinquestriatus , here's the link: https://scorpionforum.darkbb.com/t9085p15-lq-birth-didn-t-know-it-was-gravid | |
