| Hello everyone
It's probably nothing serious but i was just curious. Every picture of an emp i have seen has a white-grey membrane but mine has an almost black membrane. Don't expect a pic because my camera is crap and you don't really see much detail. My guess its just variation but let me know if i should be worried.
Thanks everyone! | |

| I'm guessing by the lack of comments that it's nothing serious... | |

| It's more then likely the lack of picture. No one wants to step up and make a broad guess without seeing the specimen. At this point I'm not even sure if you have a Pandinus imperator. Just your statement that it is one but it doesn't have the same characteristics as one leaves me very unsure.
Other information would be helpful too, such as age of scorp. How long you've had it. Is it behaving differently.

| I am inclined to agree with Yames. Answering a question such as this is very difficult when there is no image of the wee monster to look at. Yames's guess that it may not even be a P. Imperator may not be off the mark. If you can find any way to get a photo on here for people to look at it would probably pull in some answers for you. If a friend will lend you a camera or something it won't be hard at all to acquire a good pic. Good luck to you!

| I agree with the two posts above.
Is the membrane black everywhere? Or just in one area?
Old injuries to the intersegmental membranes will harden and turn black.
If it's all over, I'm inclined to think that dirt may simply be stuck to it.
It could also be the case that it's not even an emp.
Without pictures, it's really hard to say.
Pictures don't have to be that good either, just enough to see the general shape of the scorp.
