I was in Petsmart the other day buying fish food and I spotted a light pigmented African Dwarf Frog (Hymenochirus boettgeri) in the live fish section. (I always checkout the frogs. ) He didn't appear sick or unhealthy and was quite active. Since I've never seen an ADF this shade before, I decided to get him. I assume it's a he based on size, although it could be a young female. I'm not sure if the light coloration is a result his previous environment and diet or just genetics.
Pale African Dwarf Frog:
1. New frog above a typically colored female.
2.
3. New frog (right) next to an adult male (left).
4. The new guy is shyer than my other three frogs, but then, he's still getting settled in.

Yes, they're rather small, usually 2-4cm snout to vent. A 5cm individual would be large indeed.
