I was surprised to see a new brood in C. vittatus tank.

Just to share, mating between a pair while the females are still carrying babies on their backs do happen from time to time.

Examples:

It varies from pairs and is mostly dependent on the tolerance of the females. However, some females do need time to recuperate and replenish lost energy after their recent brood and may display hostility when a male makes his sexual advances.

When this happens, there is a risk whereby the babies may fall mom's back during their scuffling. Hence, it might be a safer bet to remove males from the same enclosure once you are certain of the female being gravid. However, that are always some who will react otherwise, in a pleasant way, just like your C. vittatus pair

Yeah, i see them to. Does anyone have any idea why some scorpions have undeveloped embryos. Can it be stress, environment or some other factor thats at play.......anyone have any ideas?
