| Congrats, Shadowfoot! It's good to see that not only were you successful getting baby Orthochirus to 3i but you've also produced another brood as well.
Also, How valid do you think the hydration theory is with this species? I don't get to speak very often to those who have been successful breeding this species. I had a single male negebensis a little while back, but I never made an effort to find him a girlfriend.

Imo I think your theory of giving them more water than most other people would is working like a charm Their bottle cap is permanently filled with water and I drip some water at the entrance of their burrows twice a week to keep the humidity high. Thanks for the info because I dont think I would have been this succesful without it. If you ever have more info to share please let me know!

Yea, he has eaten twice now but he still needs to gain some weight. He is not a ferocious eater but at least he ate.

| Maybe it's just not clear from the angle where the picture was taken, when it's nearing the end of her gestation, embryos are clearly visible from the sides. It's just a matter of time i guess | |

It's just a matter of time i guess Do all scorpions show embryos in the late stages? I have only seen one other scorpion that did not have visual embryos and that was P.villosus. She can also be well fed but she is approximately 10 months into her gestation so I would lean towards her being near to giving birth or what is your view point on this?

| Not all has clear visible embryos when it's nearing the end of their gestation. For P.granulatus, yes. But again, maybe it differs from specimens. In my experience, gestation is usually between 11-14 months.
She's mated with a male by you personally ten months ago?

| This one was mated while she was with someone else ten months ago. Why do you say that P.granulatus will show visible embryos? Just curious | |

| I also made sure that she was indeed mated as I attempted several times. All of the times the males got tail flicking from her. | |

| It's one of my breeding projects that i yet have the time to post and do a proper write-up on. Not to worry, i'm not doubting that she is gravid. I'm just saying that based on my experience, i've seen it before. Then again it may differs from specimen. Keep us posted when she "pops" Off-topic: You might have missed it, there's an update on forum rules regarding posting. Do check it out. Thanks. | |

| My new H.saulcyi are arriving in a few days so I have been preparing a new communal setup for them. There are five of them going into it and many hiding places have been made available. One more day of drying out is still left until its 100%. Can't wait to see them crawling around in it Top view: From the right: From the left: And at ground zero: | |
