| I have an asian forest and was wondering if I can add another scorpion into his tank. He's still little (an inch and a half, if not less). And he's in a 5 gallon until he grows a little more.
I've read that it's better to house them alone because they are more agressive than emperors, etc.
Is it also possible to add an emp to his tank? As I know they have similar housing needs, but I don't know if mixing species is a good idea.

| Mixing species is never a good idea. One will almost always get eaten. If you want another scorpion, I suggest adding another Heterometrus to the tank. If you notice aggression between them, separate the two scorpions. | |

Communal setup for same specie is recommended. Btw, welcome to the forum

| Alright sounds good If I were to wait until he's matured, would it still be possible to introduce him to another scorp? He was sold to me as an asian forest though, if that's what you meant. Oh and thank you | |

Yes, it is possible. Generally, forest scorpions such as Asian forest scorpions (Heterometrus spinifers or other Heterometrus sp) and Emperor scorpions (Pandinus imperators) have no issues living in a communal setup within themselves when they are provided with proper husbandry along with ample space and hides. Of cos, we'll need to pay attention if any of the females have gotten gravid and might need to do some special arrangement for them. The risk of cannabalism were reduced when they are of similar instar and much more safer if all the specimens housed together are adults. Btw, welcome to the forum +1 An accurate ID of your current scorpion is needed, even mixing scorpions within the same genus in most cases will end up bad sooner or later.

| I think I'll stay on the safe side and keep mine as a single scorp, he can be my spoiled baby haha. Are there really any pros in having two housed together? I mean, for the scorpion who was housed alone in the first place. If that makes sense. | |

No, your scorp will do just as well alone as it would in a communal setup.
