| this is straight from my post on VL because I'm tired and lazy: so I woke up a little late to get to the office today but I checked on all my kiddos as usual an discovered that Sun Maid has got an egg sack with her. mind you I don't really care much for true spiders but I caught her while doing a demolition job and decided to keep her around until someone came along that wanted her. I don't know much about keeping false widows or caring for them with egg sacks so I hope that I'm doing it right. if any of you want her & her kids....wink, wink...drop me a line and she can be yours. yes, I finally got the species correct. thanx Mike!!!

By the way, are you sure she's a Latro? She looks a lot like my false widows. | |

| Cool cool. I just noticed she looked really similar, and one of my two had an eggsac a few weeks ago -- 'bout 60 babies came out when I opened it. | |

| how did you screen off the air holes? I figure I could stick stocking material to the inside of the lid to prevent sling escape | |

| That's exactly what I did. I took it out after a week or so and put it in its own vial with some nylon beneath the lid. | |

| yeah, I'm not really looking forward to it. she's made a massive web structure around the egg sack so removing it is going to be a task | |

| Sounds like a good plan. I got impatient with mine and opened it up when I could see there were slings in it -- then about sixty or so spilled out. Now they're darkened up and just as skittish as the adults. | |

| I've seen spiders minding multiple sacks before but not after one sack has burst to life. I guess it's back to the hobby lobby to get another little 1x1x2 cube | |

| she's just a regular egg factory. I got another egg sack overnight. this brings me up to 3 from her and one from one of the new S. grossas. yep, it's safe to say I have too many false widows but at least I've got two bloodlines from two different regions/biota within the county | |

| we have a false widow who lives under the frog tank. She eats the stray crickets who happen to go under the tank. we must rememeber to catch her and take her with us when we move! | |
