| It was freshly molted and I didn't think about the cricket being in there. Now the other one that I said was still at 2i is molting as I type. I decided after what happen to the other one that had just molted, I placed the one that was still 2i in the container it came in with some damp substrate. I dug out a place and is not molting. Once the molt starts is there an average time for the molt to complete? | |

| From what i've encountered before.. molting ranges from 45mins to 2 hours on average.. With regards to communal scorplings enclosure... as molting occurs in a shorter intervals.. i do not recommend leaving crickets in the enclosure unless they are taken down immediately. Not even pinheads. B.lateralis nymphs are less likely to strike on molting scorps.. to be safe.. i'll even throw in a few pieces of dried cat food. (Note: this can only counter risks of feeders' attack but for cannibalism between siblings.. only by keeping them very well-fed and providing ample hides will help)If feeder choice is not easily available.. and only crickets are available.. I'll suggest to do a slight head crush to each cricket you dump in and offer feeding only at night.. That way, when the lights are off.. & if the scorplings are hungry, they are likely to explore and bump into a half-dead but "still twitching" & "delicious tasting" cricket.. If there are left overs the next morning when you visit their tank. Just take a few sec to remove them with tongs. More effort on our part but will reduce risk of death | |

| Thanks GS, I'll use a little more caution in the future. This has been a costly lesson. Not monetarily, but scorpion life. I've never raised scorplings before, I've always had adults. No problem. This is new for me and I hate loosing even one! Anyway I have one molting right now, but it has taken more than 4hrs. It's almost done. Just a little of the tail to go and it's still on it's back, but it seems to be doing well. It's in a container inside the tank, to help keep temp and humidity up. You're right more effort on my part will help! The problem is knowing what to or not to do. Thanks for your input!!! | |

| Just ask dude, its ok! When it is done molting try to leave it alone, since it can barely walk after a molt. What you did actually is a good idea, to cup them so nothing else can reach it when its weak! Good thinking. | |

| Thanks Pluto! I probably shouldn't have just let them go into that big tank right off the bat. I should have keep them in a smaller area until after at least this molt, maybe even until 4i, but we live and learn. Thank you for all your help! I don't think I would've made it this far with your care sheet!!! | |

| No you did ok. They're used to be together. The sibling will not attack each other. Crickets are just nasty critters and scorps very very fragile when just molted. You'll get them to adulthood in no time. | |
