| hi guys,
i got my first scorp in feb somtime and she settled down perfectly within 2-3days. shes only young i was told nd is about 4-5inch long she lives in a tank(2ftx1ftx1.5ft) with 3-4inch of soil with bark on top for show. ive been keeping her at around 65'C at night and upto 85'C in the day i use a heat mat for all heat and a red light bulb in the day as shes in a shaded corner for light. humidity stayed between 70 and 85 all the time. she was(well at least looked)in perfect health and ate well until now. she jus lies near the opening of her burrow completely pressed to the floor flat out.very sluggishand refused food. so i got her out and discovered shes very fat and all the plates on her abdomen are very spaced appart.
please help i have com to the conclution tht shes either pregnant or molting
any ideas people??? | |

| She definitely might be gravid, can you take pictures? that would help people here help. How often do you feed her? She may just be fat, they sometimes gorge themselves and then fast for some time while they wait the fat off. | |

| If it's flat against the floor it's dying but it sounds like an upcoming molt. | |

| Is the tail straight out or is it curled? If she's immature, it is most likely a molt. What color is her telson (the end of the tail bearing the sting)? If she's an adult, it would be brown; subadults have cream-colored telsons and juveniles have white ones. Also, I'm assuming your temperatures are Fahrenheit and not Celsius -- 85 C would give you some delicious slow-roasted scorpion. | |

| tail out flat then she is dead or dying, with a curl still in it, then she is alive. Again I also ask what colour is the telson? It could just be a moult coming up with her telson isnt brown. xxxxxx | |
