| so my emperor scorpion hasnt come out of his hide in like 2 weeks almost, since about the time i changed the substrate and things around : \ maybe thats why but when ive changed it before he would come out. i also havent seen it eat since i got it. there was only 1 time (about a week ago)i put a cockroach in the tank and it ran into the hide where my scorp actually grabbed and held it within its claw. unlike all the other times ive tried to feed him he just runs away from the food. i still didnt see him eat it, nor can i check the hide to just see if he just killed and left it. so im wondering how long they can go without eating and why its not. i check on it constantly at night and in the day to check if hes come out of the hide. | |

| When I first got my scorpions, I was just like you. I was paranoid that they were not eating. But then I learned that they can go for a year without eating. And don't fret if he doesn't come out, always remember if the're in their hide, they are happy. You will get use to them, you know because they are not normal pets. Good luck to you! | |

| A hidden scorp is a happy scorp, don't worr thy can go ages without eating and unless your watching the tank 24/7 you don't know if it has come out, another I've noticed whilst keeping scorps is thy tend to be out in the open if they are ill or dying, don't know why?? | |

| If you cannot stand a scorpion that hides all the time, you should get another species. I have a p transvaalicus that bolts out of its dig onto a cricket, locust or whatever you feed them (I am against feeding mice, but i'm sure they grab it) and latches on, on the slightest movement! You should all trade your slacker emps for some pts!
They're not THAT much smaller and mean as f.... Makes up for some scorpion sport. | |

| lol wont be for long if they follow the modest advice At least you know you'll get stung if you're too close, which means you will not ever have the need to handle them.. | |
