Subject: tank sizes?? 8/9/2011, 6:00 pm
hi, im new to scorps and i was wondering if your guys could answer a couple of question for me. firstly, is there any little rules when it comes to working out the size of tank needed, such as two times the length of the scorp?? and secondly, when measuring a scorp, is the body and tail measured??

I couldn't really say if twice the body length will suffice. No scorpion alone need more than 5 gallons, even for the big species.
I suppose you could measure like that but I think usually it's the whole thing. I could be wrong though.

Scorpions are measured from mouth to stinger.

I wouldnt think x times body size... mine are all in 30x25x20, container and they dont seem to be stressed out, but I wouldnt go smaller. It is practical and appears to be big enough (even for a couple).

I don't know Sam... I told a guy yesterday hat he could put cats and ponies into his tank.
