| Take out your LQ carefully and put it in a clear plastic containter and look underneath, if its pectines look like this /\ it's a male, if the look like this /``\ its a female. gap=female no gap=male It looks like a female from the body shape thoughbut look underneath. The white stuff on it's tail is poop, they are real good poopers . Can't really tell on you A.a | |

| I'm with Chrome on this.
What he said I find to be the easiest way to sex L.Q's.
Nice pics Bro, pic 3 def leads me to believe it to be female. Can't help to much with your A.a but I heard the gap or overlap way works with most Buthids.
Good Luck with them and nice new additions

| Pectine counts are accurate for Androctonus australis. Get yourself a nice clear business card case to put it in. They snap shut and you can flip it on it's back to take a clear photo. Blow it up on the computer and count away. 30-38 is male, 22-29 is female.
Also, I'd advise only keeping your Haddy in that setup temporarily. They are happiest when they can burrow. Get yourself some excavator clay to mix with regular sand. 1 part clay dust to 3 parts sand. Put a good five or six inches in a tank and wet it down. Mold in some hills and place a flat rock or wood chunk in so that the edge overhangs a hill. Place a small dimple in under the rock. Set this aside to dry thoroughly under a heat lamp. When it's dry and you put your scorp in there it'll happily and readily excavate a burrow under the rock.
Nice scorpions you have there! I should be acquiring some A.a. this week I hope... | |

| I think that the white is or dirt, or a small puncture in its exo resulating in a droplet of blood mixed with white sand. It is nothing to worrie about though.
I think your australis is a very fat fattailed female (not a typical torpedo shaped male)... The tergites are very close to each other, so it's not an overfed male. Cant tell for the others.

| The Haddy is going to get his own enclosure once I can afford another 10 gallon that I can half off. | |
