My scorpion got his tail pinched earlier :-( There is a white spot where the pinch occured and now it seems to not want to use it (just lays it flat.) Will this heal quickly with no problems or is there something I can do to help it heal?

Is it leaking fluid? Where is the injury, one of the five segments, a joint, or the stinger?

Its in between...lets see goes stinger, segment, segment....in between those 2 segments. It was leaking fluid for a minute im giessing cause dirt got all caught up on it but now its just a white spot in between them, tail laying flat, and he hardly wants to move.

It will probably not be able to use it's tail. Injuries like this are quite common. Picking scorpions up by the tail improperly can cause permanent damage to them. The tail is quite a bit more delicate than a lot of people think. Keep your eye on it. If it starts leaking again you can use superglue to cover the hole, or mix vaseline with some fine sand and cover it with the paste.

Mind me asking how the injury occured?

The anus is contained in the first segment closest to the "stinger" right? I would think it could be ok.

God I feel so bad :-( I was picking him up with some tongs like I read everywhere to do, it wiggled loose and like a pansy I jumped and pinched on accident at the same time....

That is correct, however the feces would travel the length of the tail to get there. Depending on the injury it could lead to impaction.

Well Shawn I got your photos. I can tell you 100% that you do indeed have a Desert Hairy. As for the injury, it's hard to say. Is there a similar injury on the bottom of the tail?

Well accidents happen man. Don't beat yourself up too much over it. Get a blacklight and go find some more. If I was in AZ that's all I'd ever do.

I happened to stumble acrosd this one outside and it had 1 stub leg and was huge. Had stumbled across a 2nd one that same day, it was smaller and was eaten by the end of the night. No money for a blacklight, just moved here in April and am unemployed but I do go out across the street to a field area and dig up burrows (no luck yet lol) Gotta find one before the wifey comes home though lol....
