| Hey everyone. I'm new here. I've been posting at Arachnoboards for a couple weeks now. Some of you may know me . Anywho... I'm not sure how to tell the instar of my Emp. I have a few pics here (I have big hands as I'm 6' 2", if that helps any): https://2img.net/h/i193.photobucket.com/albums/z248/phpkoder/Scorpion/DSCI2112.jpg (yes, that's me.. just woke up ) https://2img.net/h/i193.photobucket.com/albums/z248/phpkoder/Scorpion/DSCI2121.jpg https://2img.net/h/i193.photobucket.com/albums/z248/phpkoder/Scorpion/DSCI2117.jpg https://2img.net/h/i193.photobucket.com/albums/z248/phpkoder/Scorpion/scorp2-1.jpg The last one is in the old enclosure I had. I've had the scorp for almost 4 months now I believe. It was smaller when I bought it. I'm calling the scorp an 'it' because I'm having a difficult time sexing it b/c it's so young yet (lol).. Thanks!! | |

| Yeah...I know you... Welcome to SF. No ACTUAL way to tell what instar it is only a guesses can be made. I cant see the pics because I'm at work but someone else can give you a guess. They can however tell if it's a juv. or adult. | |

| Still a juvie, and from the telson, I'd say it's one molt from adulthood (I forget at which instar emps mature).
The telson looks creamish instead of white -- any younger, and it'd be white.

| So I'm assuming that this molt takes the longest?
I'll get better pics tomorrow, if I can. They're a bit blurry :\

| Id'd say...one-two molts away from maturity. I can see the pics here now. | |

| I would say due to size, I would also say 2 more moults until maturity xxxx | |

| I sort of agree with Connie, They will have more than 2 molts(might take several months) to become mature | |
