For a second there I confused the two different scorpion setups as one lol. I read about it escaping and saw pics of it escaping just like you said, but didn't realize they were Kerrby's pics Smile

Eek :O
Scorpions are pretty smart to try and escape using the cord for the temp gauge's probe! Currently I dont have anything on top of my tank because it's 30 gallons so it needs to be ordered. This will be the first night my Scorp is in said tank. There's no plants, or probe cord or anything he could use to climb out. Should i be worried about him being an escape artist too?

Unless he can get a grip on something (cord, plant, etc [which you don't have]) youi'll be fine. Ensure that the glass from the dirt to the top is taller than the length of your scorpion and its tail. (They will balance on their tails to extend their length when climbing).

Likely, you'll be able to tell the moment he's out and exploring. I've never seen one not attempt a "glass climb" (they can't tell the glass is there, so they try to climb it). If he's not out in the first dozen attempts, you're probably solid.

thanks for the quick reply Kerrby! I've got a good 14" from the dirt to the top. He's still young I think. not including his tail probably about 1-2"! I can sleep soundly tonight now :O
