| Would it be safe to use playground sand for scorpions? The prices have gone up on the sand around here and i realized i can a lot of playground sand for a much lower price. | |

| you should nuke it in the microwave or cook the sand in the oven for a while before you put it in to try and get rid of any parasitic mites that might be living in it. very tricky to remove once there on your scorp. | |

| Yes play sand is fine. I use it for all of my desert species. It is designed for kids so it is well cleaned and filtered. | |
