| good day to all of you..
yesterday i got my new pair of longi and today is there first time together in my tank. i was wandering why shes waving his tail direction back and forward and evrytime they get close the female do the same thing and sometimes running away.. | |

| Sounds like possible courtship . . . or territorial display. Do we have mature specimens or juveniles?

| ahh really? thanks sir.. but the female is waving the tail not the male.. the male should do the courtship right? i dont know actually.. ill post it | |

| Hmm . . . the only female tail-waving I've seen was "get the hell out of my burrow!"
You also never said if you have adults or juvies. Juveniles, it could just be establishing territory. | |

| sorry i dont have the picture of female yet.. right now they are in the same hide/burrow they look just fine to each other i guess.. ok sir heres the male.. my male and female are both 6i according to the seller.. how many instars away to become an adult??? | |

| my female did it before when the male was near her. they just came out of their burrow cause my lamp was hot and she was at first waving her tail, then she dug some dirt around, then went back in with the male. | |

| i had this when i placed an adult male with a female half the age yet the male shook his hole body in a wierd way every time they got close | |

Not necessarily . . . the situation I referenced was just the only one where it was the female doing the tail-wave. Males can do it as part of courtship. Are you 100% sure it was a female waving? I don't think you can trust the seller to always know the species (as we've just shown), sex or instar . . . (the picture you posted looks like an adult). If they're both hanging out in the same burrow now as you've said, my guess was it was an initial territorial dispute that has now been settled. | |
