| After so long in scorpion-keeping, I thought it just might be time to give some credit to this side of the arachnid order. I never had much luck with them, but thanks to many hobbyists on forums like these, I’m breaking new ground for myself in my first significant tarantula collection. A. avicularia (m) - Yay I gotta Pink-toe... ... in my 2nd attempt at arboreal setups in a tall tupperware... lot of work. : - driftwood smothered in forest moss to minimize the hard abdomen-bruising edges. Bunches of moss and simply wedged into place... a view of the back I couldn’t be bothered to tie them. This is my OBT pop-up cookie jar Officially my favourite T for now... Transfer jobs are charged with adrenaline. Burrow entrance shot This is my G. rosea munching on a mealworm in a “bugspy catcher”... It comes with fitting lid, air holes and ‘magnifying lens. Really nice for slings I went back to the store and bought 10 more. I also have two B. albopilosum slings in those... will post again another time | |

| Nice to expand one's collection, isn't it? By the time you retire you may be able to breed that G. rosea. | |

| that A. Avicularia setup is prolly the best lookin setup ive ever seen, might nick ur idea for my emp tank EDIT: oh yeah, i know this sounds cheeky but is it ok to save one of the A. Avicularia setup pics to my "setups" picture folder, im collectin pics of tropical setups as inspiration for my emp tank cause thats like my "display" tank so if u know what i mean, i PROMISE!! that ill just use it for that and will NEVER post it anywhere at all as my own picture EVER. Cheers. | |

Cheers. thanks for the compliments, and by all means... share as you like... P.S. You can always be creative with structural support... use a piece of bark, wedge and smother it with moss until its firmly stuck to it.... refer to pics of the back... Hope that helps, when I really get it down to a finite art then I'll consider posting a tutorial on it hehehe best regards, and thanks for the comments ya'll......... | |
