| As topic states, would the remaining crickets still be safe for consumption?
I assume the cause of death for the other crickets are old age since most of the dead ones have wings. My question is, could the dead carcass degrade the health of the crickets that are still alive? | |

| Well they might start eating the dead cricket. So i recomend you take them out. But you should be fine. Crickets die all the time from old age usually. But you should clean the tank anyways just so that it doesnt stink up on you. -Eddy | |

| right, i cleaned the tank earlier and gosh did it stink. it stinked so bad its hard to explain lol. my crickets feed on cabbage. =)) i use them to feed my pet Oscar fish too so i was wondering if their quality would decrease due to the many carcasses around them for 1 day. | |

| Pretty much what Eddy said. Take out the dead ones before they get nasty, but the lives ones are still good. | |

| we feed our crickets carrot. Maybe that would help? Since carrot isnt leaf like and more solid and...I dont know, im grabbing at straws. We used to put my hoppers into a tank but we buy crickets every week and keep them in their own containers. They seem fine on us and dont die. xxxx | |

| I dont keep crickets any more because of that same reason. I use roaches. But i did buy some cricket last week and just threw them in with my roaches so they are eating oranges, and dog food. -Eddy | |

| And that's why you should get roaches. Almost no stink, and they live for a long time. Also much more low-maintenance than crix. | |

| the crix are safe unless they died from a mite infestation - then you'd be running the risk of spreading the infestation. | |

| I have had instances where I forget about the roaches and they end up still beign alive months later. | |
