just a quick question, are Hottentotta Hottentotta/Jayakari communal scorpions? and if so how many per 10gal tank can be put together without a problem.

I'm pretty sure all Hottentotta spp. are communal as adults.

Not sure on the density, though.

so about 4-5 in a 10gal tank would probably be fine then? since they aren't too enormous as long as i have say 3 bark/wood pieces propped up on a diagonal throughout.

Even pandinus and heterometrus are communal...until they arent! haha.
Ive heard also they are communual when adults but I dont know 100% as ive not owned any

thanks, tryin to start a good Hottentotta colony because i know alot of avid scorpion fans on the west coast canada that would probably love to get their hands on some. Little bit of extra money on the side of having some of the most beautiful scorps in the world imo. Smile
