| I've read in other threads to ignore the birthing mother for two weeks. Does that mean don't even feed them for two weeks. i.e. literally do nothing involving the tank and the scorp? | |

| if its a forest species then as long as the substrate is moist enough then yes, do nothing, especially feeding. Bugs running around will either annoy the hell out of the mother or be a threat to the babies | |

| If the humidity isn't enough, gently dump some water on the substrate at the end opposite mom. | |

| Yep, we mean exactly that! Dont bother the mother and babies unless it NEEDS water dumped on the substrate (furthest away from mum and babies). Place a towel over the front of the tank and dont bother looking. Forget you own that mother and brood. | |

Place a towel over the front of the tank and dont bother looking. Forget you own that mother and brood. How come, ive been pouring water near, i thought it wouldve been fine... but now im getting WORRIED! I even have a heating lamp on top of the tank jus to make the water to warm up and humidify ASAP.. but i poured water everwhere... yet its still doing fine ~ :S

| Feeding the mum can sometimes prevent cannibalizme... so you chould offer her a single headsmashed feed bug | |

| I'd still be worried about the stress making her eat them . . . isn't eating young a response more to stress / unfavorable conditions than it is to hunger?
I know that male water bugs have a suppressed appetite when they're carrying eggs on their back and the theory is that it prevents paternal cannibalism.

| You can easily just place a dead feeder bug near the entrance of her home and let it sit there for a day.. that whouldnt hardly cause any stress.. but most of the time i belive she eats them because of unfavorable conditions yeah.. | |

| Well, that would work. I thought you meant something like lifting up the hide and holding a bug out to her, not leaving something where she'd find it. | |
