| "Dangerous Wild Animals" act. It's a British law that severely restricts the animals that one can keep in captivity -- originally started so the average person wouldn't keep a cheetah or something (they were popular in the '60s) without proving they were capable of such.
Today, it covers a ridiculously wide range of animals that almost anyone could keep without risk, and one must jump through a lot of government hoops and pay lots of fees in order to have a permit.
And yes, Deathstalker, all buthids are on the list. (Despite only 25ish being "medically significant.")

(Despite only 25ish being "medically significant.") that sucks, i hate it at times, because i'm limited to what i can keep! theres so many scorpions i'd love to keep but with out a DWA i'm buggerd!! i am in the process though of getting 1, although it'll take a few months!!

| We have to invent a good way for them to survive the shipping, but that would be fun to get hard to get species. | |
