| Best substrate is sand and these dont require a lot of space a nice small KK will do. | |

| A false-bottom is not necessary for desert species that only dig out shallow scrapes, so no, you wouldn't need one. | |

| Thats far to big mate you want to get a small or medium exo terra fanarium the small you can get for like £7 posted and medium £12 posted they dont dont require a lot of space and as long as you supply a good hide that will be fine.
As for tank setup use play sand or coir blocks layer 4 inches of sand or coir on bottom place hide in a position you like and away you go these species dont require a water dish as they get all there moisure from there kill like many Desert Scorpions so very easy and cheap Scorp to run and maintain. | |

| I have just started my desert tank conversion and i have given mine a 6" x 12" area with 4.5" of substrate. they are in smaller containers at the moment but i did notice the smaller of the two had dug a burrow 3" below the surface. Unfortunately it had caved in but it keeps trying to burrow further than a dug out scrape I understood they did. But a touch too much substrate isn't going to harm the scorpion | |

| I've heard from some people that these scorpions like to wander around alot at night, so mabye some extra space won't hurt them. even though they probably wouldn't know the difference.. | |

| lol mine are in 6" critter keepers at the moment with a chunk of cork bark. They seem happy enough, they eat regularly, they have a little wonder on a night and hide under the cork during the day. But this was only temp anyway until i got this tank sorted. just taken a little longer than i anticipated! I must admit now it's all coming together I dont feel as 'mean' to my scorpions anymore | |
