| this is one of the coolest shots i have ever snapped. there is a story behind this shot as well: i was out blacklighting in field i know about an hour's drive from where i live and had found about 30 C vittatus (catch & release of course). typically i dont mess with younglings, but i stumbled upon this little 2nd or 3rd instar scorpling that was perched in a plant, which i thought was a little odd, so i turned on a white light, and what i found was so cool that i whipped out my camera and snapped this pic. that prey item this tiny little bugger is holding is a full grown field cricket that is about 3 times his weight and easily more than twice his size. they have ridiculously thick shells and are very strong, so how this little guy managed to catch, kill, and drag that cricket up there i will never understand. John
