| So I've just been into the invert room and disovered that the pandinus imperator 4I that I put back into the tank has now 100% died. I then discovered my female Heterometrus laoticus dead. stiff as a board with her tail out and her 3I scorplings all huddled around her! I have put her into a container incause a revival like the pandinus happens but I doubt it!
I also dont know how many Caraboctonus keyserlingi I have left! ages ago I found one body! so that left two...I looked under the water dish and there is one but no other sign on the other. I might have to do some digging to find a body or a happily living scorpion under all the sand in a broken tunnel!
*sighs* | |

| I though my CK had escaped, its lived just under its piece of wood happily ever since I got it, then one day it scared the hell out of me and decided to dig right down the bottom of its box. | |

| That sucks, Connie. Your girl dwarfs my 10-cm preserved male.
I did the rounds last night and found that the last U. mordax stuck in 2I died, and the other smallish from the community got eaten.

| No, I mean the last one that was still a 2I died. There were two left -- one joined the 3Is, one joined the . . . burrow in the sky?
I think I have eight 3I now -- I gave one away and one died of the original 10 I separated from the brood.

| sorrie to hear about your loss connie. it always seems to happen to me that deaths come in rapid succession and sometimes you can figure out why, and sometimes you can be completely in the dark like in your case. whenever i lose a specimen i always make sure to do something with the body wether it be encasing it in resin, framing it or some other form of display preservation. it almost seems a sin not to make some use of their beautiful architecture, and that somehow eases the pain a little bit. right now the only scorpions i have left are a leiurus and a P. transvaalicus, and he seems to be getting rather old part of the sad thing about scorpions is that we have only a very rudimentry comprehension of their biology and life history, and they are relatively short lived anyways, so often times our time with our beloved members of our collections is all too brief. death is inevitable, but it doesnt make it sting any less. i'm sorry for your deaths, and i wish you the best with your remaining collection. | I have 23 het babies left, all 3I I expected a few down from 32 as I did find some dead a few weeks back. Not eaten just dead. But 23 isnt too bad!!!!
The pandinus babies were fed prekill tonight, until I know they are fully recovered to attack and kill prey without being too weak and eaten!
