ventral shot of my new t

i need some info of on how to sex a tarantula..
anw,can someone help out its sex?

almost forgotten,this is a Chilobrachys andersoni

Looks like a female to me mate, but to be 100% keep her next molt and have a look at it its the most accurate way.

another question,she seems to be bald on her buttock,kinda very bold,will she died due to the lost hair or lost skin?

nah she wont die, a bald abdomen is usually a sign of either stress or an upcoming molt.

The reason it goes bald if stressed is the whole hair flicking thing
And when its due to molt they arent really bald just appear to be bald because the abdomen
is alot bigger lol

erm..mine scratch away a portion of its hair BY ITSELF,when she was trying to escape,due to the small size of the gap she passed through..

Looks like you should be able to use that molt to sex yer T.

But if you want us to help you will need to unfold it a bit and get a closer shot.

hmm..did the tear off part affecting the sexing process?

yea,closer shot is not a problem.

you need to unfold the abdomen where the book lungs are.

The epigastric furrow should be located between the first set of book lungs. This will have the appearance of a bit of tissue paper. This furrow varies in size and shape depending on the species of tarantula.

If the exuvium has dried out, give it a light misting of water, let it soak in a bit and very gently unfold it. Some fine tweezers or a sewing needle should help you tease the abdomen into viewing position.

then get another picture on here and we will have a nosey
