| the apple has moisture and in all likelihood your scorp is thirsty and drinking. I'm not sure of the nutritional value of apple juice but give what I know about it's PH balance and it's effects on the teeth I can imagine it not being too good. all in all, fruits and veggies are not the type of food you offer to insectivores/carnivores. | |

| Agree with Ras, sometimes some emps will just instinctivly eat anything....like my pencil...or finger. I wouldn't give 'em anything other than bugs. | |

| Scorpions are insectivorous -- that is, they eat INSECTS. If you want it to have variety, switch between different species of roaches or from roaches to crickets.
I'm surprised your chameleon has any fruit in its enclosure -- as far as I was aware, they, too, feed exclusively on insects. There are some omnivorous herps out there (bearded dragons, blue-tongue skinks), but scorpions are NOT omnivorous.
The scorpion on TV that you mention probably mistook the sudden movement of falling fruit for an insect and in all likelihood did not eat it.
And scorps have no need of food to "snack" on -- just eating one bug a week is sufficient for almost all specimens you may have in your collection.

| I agree with Mike and Eddy. If you want to spice up the diet then every so often pop in maybe a wax or meal worm.
I feel my ones crickets. But then one week I will feel hoppers or locusts. I would never ever consider to feed them veg. There aer some reptiles that eat fruit and insects but not scorpions or tarantulas. Their diet is insects (and no, not opening this to a debate on feeding mice etc)
Scorpions generally get fed once a week. I have young ones so I can feed upto 3 times a week, this is only to make sure everyone is getting fed
Once a week is enough for adult scorpions. You might find a nice big meal of a locust can make your scorpion FAST. Fasting is 100% normal and nothing to worry about...at all. As long as its nice and humid in the tank you will have a nice happy scorpion

| A vegetarian scorpion... i've heard everything now lol.
But yeah if it was dropped in it might have mistaken it for a cricket or something similar. I wouldn't keep on with that diet though!
