lol, i've heard of rosies going psyco after moults.

A friend of ours had one that was psycho, but because she had a "hat" -- the carapace didn't come off properly when she molted.

A hat? lol.


so, I just caught her digging a shallow hole in the sub, and taking a dump in it.

she only seems to do the toilet in certain places in the tank, the waterbowl seems to be her favorite.

i've noticed a couple of other "holes" in the sub as well.

I never knew T's were so clean. scorps just crap where they want.

Lol! I've only ever see them just squirt a jet out where they feel like it.

that's what I was thinking. it's not as if they get selfconsious about how clean thier tank is

we have a silver trap door spider... It goes up to the top of the enclosure, sticks it's rear end between the air vents and squirts spider poo upto 6" away... covering the neighboring critter keeper in poo!

We wondered why we couldn't find any mess other than cricket husks in the critter keeper. It like to poo over others!!!!!

LOL! are you serious? I would PAY to see that!

I'm deadly serious. We didn't know they could shoot poo until we put a post up on the BTS and apparently trapdoor spiders are known for shooting poo quite a distance!

well, just got a bit of a surprise there, my rosehair has burrowed! I know that rosehairs burrow naturally, but I didn't think they did it much in captivity.

and It seems she has connected it to her hide... right under the substrate and into her hide, like a secret escape route.

That's the idea.

When Lori gave her girl a good 3-4 inches of substrate, she made some nice deep burrows.

Hmmm.... mabye that's what the poo-holes were all about.

but... I don't have that much substrate in the tank, do you think i should add some more?


I honestly didn't expect her to do this.

Sure, add a couple inches for her.

And when I added more sub in it covered her burrow, she hasn't made a new one yet.

Looks like she's got a cool setup. Nice little burrow entrance -- reminds me of a hobbit-hole.

I'm not so sure she's going to molt soon -- her abdomen looks kind of pale, especially in pic #3.

yeah, I was thinking she might just be fatter after her cricket.

Yay! she's making another burrow! she's digging in her hide, there are big balls of substrate outside her hide, and I saw her walking out holding a big chunk nearly bigger than her.
