| Here's the female B. jacksoni, pictures taken a few minutes ago: My other female, with the male -- and I just noticed when uploading this picture that she has severe mycosis. Let's hope she pops before the mycosis kills her, which I have a feeling it will. And here's the female C. hentzi, pictures taken yesterday (she looks fatter in person): | |

| I hope your gravid with mycosis will be ok and pop before she drops. Must be so horrible having a desert scorpion and the risks of humidity. Makes me nervous about getting a desert hairy.

| Well, she's not desert per se -- they like a bit of humidity just not too much. And here I was thinking it was always too dry in the tank! When I added humidity I thought they would have climed to the drier areas if it was too much for them (I've observed other scorpions do this as an indicator their environment was too wet).
Desert hairies are fun and a pretty scorpion (especially their fluorescence colors). I've got one and think she's great.

| Would not having a "dry out" period help?

| I'm actually about to go try that -- put her in a very dry container and see if she improves. I'll also see if I have any anti-fungals laying around. | |

| Well, she's in a dry hospital delicup now. I looked underneath and there's no mycosis in her booklungs. It's just gotten her tergites and her metasmoa.
Fingers crossed! | |

| *hits head on wall* She didn't make it . . . So now it's down to my male, my gravid female that Brian S said might take longer to birth than expected, and the runt of my collection that refuses to molt (and that I now really really hope is a female). | |

| That sucks man. When it gets to the booklungs then there usually isn't a whole lot of time left. Good luck with the Hentzi though.

| I actually didn't see it in the booklungs, so I was surprised when it killed her so quickly.
Did you hear about the other two jacksoni? The runt died coming out of its molt, and the female turned out to be in premolt (not gravid). She and the male have been cohabiting for about a week now.
