| Hi there im new to the whole scorpion game, and i just picked myself up 3 emporors on the weekend, 3 months old,
my questions are: do they eat a live cricket or dead at this age as there claws look very small
Also there all laying on each other in different spots of the tank and do not walk around much at all , just wondering if this is normal or are they cold?
what temp and humidity should the tank be, i think its at about 55-60 humidy (moderate) and about 25 degrees celcius.
Last question is i was told to buy the crystalized water for the little guys so they do not drowned in the water, how often do they drink at this age, just so i can keep an eye on them
If someone could help me out that would be great,
Thanks, | |

| i think i know who you bought them from:lol: are you in Canada? just so i know if it you:lol: The humidity should be up more, you can obtain better humidity using a false bottom tank. 2 inches of small rocks then a screen then your substrate with a tube thats smaller then your babies leading from the top of the terrarium right to the rocks. and you can poor water through that tube and it will get absorbed and your humidity will rise.
Live crickets are fine. you can get different sizes subtable for your size scorpions you can get pin heads or medium crickets for those little guys.
as for them just hudling on top of eachother they always hudle together when in groups.
Do they have a place to hide?
and the water. DON'T WAIST YOUR MONEY! i put small aquarium gravel in a shallow water dish and that works great! if not ive heard of people just using wet Cotton

| Emps are often referred to as "pet holes," so don't expect them to be out wandering all that much. As for the water, it's difficult for these guys to drown. Sometimes they will completely submerge themselves and even climb around in the water taking a "bath," using their tail to scrub their back.
So a little water dish is actually a good thing to have. NEVER use wet cotton / paper towels / sponge, as this can breed harmful bacteria.
An easier way to raise the humidity than building a false-bottom is to just dump some water on the substrate. Don't trust your humidity gauge either, unless it's a digital model that's placed directly on the substrate (halfway up the tank wall will be a lot drier than where your emps are actually living).

| from 2I they can have live crickets and can deal with ANY size in my experiance. mine have a cat tin lid cover for a water dish but they cover it every time with the soil! i spray and pour water whenever the condensation on the glass becomes low...or in this heat vanishes! Make sure they have a hide but they will probably burrow! and will make their own little hide/home. Why dont your post some pictures. at 3 months they are probably more then likely at 3I but it would be good to see pics and also to confirm xxxx | |

| do they get less active and just lay around alot when they are about to pop into a 3i , just wondering and iv increased the humidity by covering some of the top mesh with plastic wrap but enough holes for air to get in , also they still wont eat, i can hold the cricket or let it free and they back up from the cricket and like run away? not sure what the problem is??
