| Newly constructed false bottom setup for P. Imperator. The former plastic vine thingy I had for decoration wasn't working out so well with the low ceiling, so I switched to a different plastic plant. She seems to enjoy lurking under the leaves. It was a zero cost upgrade (other than the price of a brick of coco-peat), making it so much better. Nice when the materials are already available. On that note, the filler tube plug is actually a foam earplug. And just to encourage some burrowing, I stuck my finger down the side of the glass before putting her hide down. She hasn't actually dug anything on her own yet, but seems to like my contribution. Right after taking these pics, I noticed the water level needed to be topped up again... | |

| Here's one I recently made for a colony of Lychas mucronatus. Not as ambitious as some of my previous projects, I opted for a setup that was easier to maintain. Close-up of the moisture reservoir... Comes with a vertical perch for them to lie in wait for thirsty crickets (which is what they typically do). The backstage pass allows an easy sneak peak at what goes on behind the scenes. This currently has 4.4.0. which will be added to as more viable pairs mature. Despite the abundance of designated hiding spots, a number of them seem to enjoy clumping together between the first and second row of vertical bark. Here's one with it's catch of the day. On the first night, two amorous males already got a head start of the rutting season. One was seen readily discarding a half-eaten cricket to woo a passing female. In both instances the spermatophore was consumed by the male after effective insemination. I guess good protein is a bad to thing to waste Cheers and best regards!!! | |

| wow amazing setups once again Alex...any chance you can post a pics with a tape measure or something to get an idea of the size of these guys please? and also do they put the spermataphore on the vertical bark? or do they need a flat horizontal surface? | |

| Lol. Nothing is in the 20 gallon tank yet. I just stuck it up there to get out of the way for the time being. I have 14 hottentotta trilineatus scorplings that I plan on putting in there for a communal enclosure once they get older. So I won't have to worry about cannabalism as much. One more molt and I may try it. I had my two P. Imps. In that tank but took them out put them in the exoterra tank on the left bottom. | |

| The latest Development of my Arachnid Rack... Bunched up mongo with the stacks of Centipede Tubs and them H. longimanus strays keep coming in every now and then. Topping that off 4 of my female H. longimanus have broods. I'll inducting a selected number of surplus H. longimanus specimens to a Scorpion terrarium exhibit in a friend's bar pretty soon... keep ya posted. Cheers and best regards | |

| LOL, Pluto.........my camera actually doesn't have the right date and time on it, I'm too lazy to change it.......but that was just taken yesterday.
She doesn't really burrow, she likes to hide under things, so, we tried 2 bricks to start off with. We do have a third waitin in the wings.
I am having some issues with humidity tho. The tank top is screen, the same kind I used to use for my frogs, so we cover it with a t-shirt. I used to use a towel for my frogs. I'm actually wondering if it's time for a new thermo/humidity thing tho........I don't think it's reading right. I dumped a ton of water on the eco last night and it never raised above 76% still.

| Most commercial hygrometers are crap, just toss it. Just make sure the substrate is damp, not wet. It'll be fine with damp sub, and sufficient temps. | |

| Cool. That sounds good. We sure don't have a hard time keeping temps up here in Southern Arizona, that's for sure.
Yeah, I bought that one at radio shack about 5 years ago. It's an indoor/outdoor with humdity, that way I could set the outdoor probe opposite the actual unit and see what my ambient temps were.

| awesome set up substrate looks damp enough to me hun maybe stick a few more inches in if you want to give it the best possible burrowing environment 4-6 inches is recommended but we have our at least 8" at the back of our tank lol im loving the thing in the middle (what is it lol) also what are you using to heat them (if heating is needed that is?) | |
