| Hello everyone this is my first post I just got a P.Imp and as I was looking on the net on how to take the best care of him I came across this forum. Thanks to whoever started this its a great place for info. Anyway this is Midnight. http://www.electronicfiles.net/files/10729/Pets/100_0177.jpg his first meal http://www.electronicfiles.net/files/10729/Pets/100_0165.jpg this is his home I want to get some more things to put in,but let me know if I should change anything.I got about 4 1/2 inches of coca fibers in there. http://www.electronicfiles.net/files/10729/Pets/100_0179.jpg A couple question I have are...Dose sound bother them at all? I have been feeding him every other night, got him the 26th fed him the 27,29 and 1st I read somewhere here that once a week is all they need should I stop and wait a week or what? and last my tanks temp has been around 82 to 86 depending on the IR light being on or off and the humidity is around 75 to 80% is this good enough or should I try and raise the humidity? Thanks for all your help | |

| Don't worry about the humidity your set-up looks fine and you have the right temp. As for feeding it most emps tend to eat a alot or not at all. They can fast for months or eat 20 crix a day. I recomend just feeding it randomly 1-2 large roaches or crickets. | |

| really good pics, man! your setup looks cool, and if you have one of those humidity reader things, you should probably just throw it away. they don't work. | |

| Welcome aboard! The setup looks great, as has been said before. As far as humidity gauges go, while the brand you have is more or less worthless (a lot of us on here have gone through that one before ), even the good ones need to be closer to the soil to get an accurate reading. | |

| again thanks for the help everyone.Yeah I figured I shoulda put it closer to the soil but I was worried it might bother him a little bit....I know I worry a bunch Anyway I keep calling my Scorp a he Im 90% sure but just to me 100% here is a pic http://www.electronicfiles.net/files/10729/Pets/100_0201.jpg Also nobody has said anything about if sound might bother/hurt Scorps. The only reason I am asking is because my computer speakers are a couple feet away from my tank....Just tell me to shut the hell up if Im worrying to much.Just tryin to be the best dad I can be.Havent had Midnight for a week yet and Im already addicted to him =o) thanks again for all the help | |

| I'm bad with sexing so that question will go to someone else. As for the noise thing, don't worry so much. As far as I know they can't hear so it would be the vibrations that bothered it. If my 3 emps and 9 other scorpions can survive the vibrations from a car for 1800 miles I doubt a little speaker noise will do anything at all. Welcome to the addiction that is scorpion keeping. | |

| I'm also gonna say male. But I've never heard of sexing by looking at the setae. You know that those are just sensory hairs, right? As far as sound goes, just don't blast the bass at it all the time. | |
